Rahn Launches Celligent for Cell, DNA Protection

Rahn has introduced Celligent, which protects the DNA and supports the repair of UV-induced cell damage. Three active principles are interlocked: ethyl ferulate, a natural antioxidant with UV absorbing properties, neutralizes dangerous oxygen radicals and reduces the dose of UV radiation that penetrates the skin; carnosolic acid combats free radicals—one of the main causes of DNA damage and uridine monophosphate (UMP), a biochemical pre-cursor to the synthesis of nucleotides, supports the repair of DNA in the cell.

The ingredient accelerates the supply of nucleotides, which are urgently required for the process of nucleotide excision repair.

Scientific studies in vitro and in vivo confirm the effectiveness of Celligent. The material is free of preservatives and can be used for anti-aging concepts, skin care products for sun protection and after- sun products. It is suitable for use in emulsions (W/O and O/W) and gel products.

Gransurf 50C (INCI: Dimethicone (and) PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone) is an effective emulsifier for water-in-oil (w/o) emulsions. It is 50% active and uses a special grade of low viscosity dimethicone as the preferred new solvent choice, according to the company.
